As time went on, George realized something in talking to his customers – the majority of businesses and residences were leasing propane tanks from a local propane supplier.
He discovered that leasing tanks was causing many of his customers to feel frustrated. When they leased a propane tank, they had to buy that company’s propane, and they were stuck with the propane company’s pricing, fees, and customer service. This gave George an idea.

After deciding to change my propane delivery provider at our vacation home, I called several propane service providers and selected Propane Depot based on the fact that Mike the representative was straight forward and very clear about the service. I also liked the idea that at no cost (based on a minimum dollar purchase) I would have access through an app to monitor my propane levels. This is important to us since our previous service provider let our propane run out. We do not visit our vacation home as frequently in the winter, it could have resulted in significant damage to our home. So far so good with Propane Depot, no gimmick pricing, a great app and the switch was made seamlessly.

I needed a propane tank to supply a 50-80k propane heater. This heater is used for about 20 minutes per day to get my apartment heat jump-started, because the baseboard, electric heating in my 900 square foot apartment is inadequate (old house, drafty, no insulation). I did not want to be running to the propane fill station every week, like I may have had to do with a 15 or 20 pound tank. This tank is working flawlessly. Also, even when entirely filled, it can easily be ported by a single person without the need for a cart or hand truck. It has some heft, but it is manageable by the average person. As pictured, it did come with the annoying Flame King sticker. I removed that with water and lighter fluid for the glue residue. That took about 15 minutes. In Ohio the date stamp is good for 10 years, and the one I got was tested 6 months ago. That is perfectly acceptable. It was also vacuum evacuated before shipping to me, which is something else that was required at my filling station. All in all, this was a fine investment. I may get a second, just to minimize my trips to the propane filler. Plus, I am camper, and this will be handy to easily run all the propane equipment for a full weekend. Remember, this is 50% greater capacity than the typical tank. It is the same circumference, interface, and footprint - just taller.

Arrived in a short time in a box so it wasn't all scratched up. Better size for running my dual fuel generator. Bigger than the BBQ tank but not so big that I need a crane to move it around. Filled it at Tractor Supply 7.1 gallons. and it works great.
